I have been amused by all of this cold, rational discussion about the prospective Auto Bridge Loan as to whether or not the country should "just let Detroit die" as if no actual people live or work here whose lives would be destroyed by that choice.

And when I say amused, I really mean seething.

Thankfully, Chinese milk powder is banned in the United States, but it is still very scary that babies are dying in China from baby formula contaminated with melamine, the same chemical the was responsible for the contaminated pet food last year.

1. Dear moms on TheNest.com who all have put their 2 month olds on a daily nighttime schedule of bath-bottle-book-bed: I think you are crazy. Reading to your kids is great, but at 2 months old, I don't really think they care. Also, babies do not get that dirty, and thus do not need a bath every day.
